Jimera Tres Trail was held the third weekend on February. This race was split on three stages. The two firsts were on Saturday and the last one was on Sunday. On saturday, there were two stages, in the mornig 25 kilometers and in the night 13 kilometers. On sunday, it was the long one, 32 kilometers. At the end, the finishers would have had to run 70 kilometers and ascended 2930 meters.

This time, my wife and I would be not run together due to the fact that the previous week my knee was damaged, while I was doing windsurf. Thus, my wife would be alone in the starting line.

On friday night, we took the bib numbers and a bit later we attended the brief about the race.

The runners gathered at the Jimera Train Station. There, we would take the train which would bring us to Colmenar, the starting of the first stage.

El ambiente en la estación es alucinante.

The vibe is amazing.

Here we met to Francisco Lai, a great friend who would be the Yolanda's guardian angel during the race

Pasajeros al tren !!!!!!

All aboard!!!!!!!

The famous speaker Chito would cheer the race during all the weekend.

Point of no return, in a few seconds the race would be going to start.

Pronto nos enfrentamos con la primera cuesta.

Sooner than later we faced to the first steep.

At the end of the first uphill, we were reached by Super Paco. an example of how to enjoy life. And it is usual, without wearing brand clothes, nor carbon poles, ...

The Buitreras Gorge behind us.

After the Germans Bridge, we bumped into a bit climb and a downclimbing. Thanks to the ropes we could do it without any problem.

While the runners were on race, the staff drove a few activities for the kids.

I went to the aid point to cheer to the runners and especially my wyfe.

At last I could glimpse my wife. She was a bit tired but she felt strong.

I could not to keep her pace. The next point where I would see her, it would be the arriving line.

Super Paco y su hijo. Dos grandes personas.

Super Paco and his son. Two really nice people.

Primera etapa finalizada.

First stage was over. Now it is time to relax and recharge the batteries for the next stage.

The time went by too fast and before we realised, the equipment were ready for the night race.

Again most participants were gathered in the box and they chatted about the previous stage.

Tres, dos, uno, cero!!!!!!

Three, two, one, goooooooooo!!!!!

A short video on the Jimeras streets.

Super Paco and his son on the last meters.

My wife and Francisco, also on the last meters.

Anothe arriving line has been crossed.

As a profesional runner, she is interwied after crossing the arriving line.

We already had two railway sleepers, one for each stage.

Sunday morning, Yolanda had a really big breakfast. In a few minutes, it would start the last and longest stage of the race.

The platform is almost empty, step by step the station would be crowdy

Again on train and they are ready for the last battle.

Los corredores impacientes por empezar.
The runners are eager to start.

For the last time, it hears the famous sentence before each race, three, two, one, go!!!!!!!!

The first eight kilometers run along a large and hard steep.

In Cortes de la Frontera, the runners have a few flat meters

We have already reached the highest point of the race. It comes the turn of taking some pictures.

I go to the aid point at the end of Los Llanos de Libar.

Después de tomar unas cuantas fotos a los amigos me dirigo a buscar a mi mujer.

After taking a few pictures, I go to seek my wife.

In the horizon I could glimpse the three friends.

Pronto me alcanzan y me superan.
Soon, they outstrip. My knee does not allow me to keep the paces of the goup.

The meters are dissapearing behind them, the problem is that their forces also are vanishing.

Benaoján, ultimo pueblo antes de Jimera de Libar.
Benaoján, the last village before of the long-awaited arriving line.

Now it is true, the last steep is almost over and our suffering would be rewarded.

The organization had the grace to get on the podium as a reward for constancy and suffering shown during the weekend.

I have notthing further to say just that I am very proud of my wife and that the next year I will be the runner who will suffer and enjoy this stunning race and Yolanda will be the spectator.
