Vejer - Fountain Foncubierta - San Ambrosio

Hello.

Since I am currently studying English, some of my adventures will be written in this language. I hope that  you like them and follow my steps.

Last November 25th, my wife and I woke up early and decided to investigate a new path near San Fernando. We were surfing on the internet to find a new track, and finally we decided to go to Vejer.

The path starts at the top of Vejer, in the "Nueva Vista" Avenue.  You can park in front of a small picnic area where the sights are stunning. From this point, you can see the "El Palmar" beach and the village of Conil

800 meters ahead, there is a crossroads. The route splits in three paths. One straight, other turning to left and if we look at our right, there is a narrow path between bushes. This is the way. It's a short descent of 300 meters which leads to a wide path. If it's rained, you must be careful in this descent because it's very easy to slip due to the fact you're walking on mud. At the end, you must cross a fence.

That day, we met a herd of cows. At first, we were afraid but shortly after, you realise that these animals are actually more scared than us. The next picture shows cattle walking and eating. At this moment, you realise why the "Retinto" steak is so tasty. This cattle has growed in freedom and not in enclosed spaces.

Anyway, at the 1.3 Km, spot we arrive at the Fountain Foncubierta, It has drinkable water. We leave the fountain behind and keep walking. Two kilometers later, we arrive at another crossroads. The straight way leads to the Zahora beach. I recomnend it to everyone, as it's one of the most beautiful beaches in Cádiz. However, this time we cannot visit the beach so that we turn left. After 7,2 Kilometers, we turned right and started to go up to come back the initial point.

Tthe great windmills are seen from far away. If Don Quixote had seen these mills, I think, that He'd had thought twice before fighting them

After two hours we were at the initial point. 

Personally, I think that It's an easy and beautiful route. This route has multiple variants. For instance, visiting Zahora beach and the Trafalgar lighthouse. Besides, it can lead to the Barbate cliff and the Breña pine. 

Before returning at home, I urge you to eat in the "Venta Castro" situated in the cross of the Medina Sidonia-Vejer road.
