Auroras Boreales - Northern Lights (Tromso)

Un día, una noche, un intento, ... Veía hoy las Aurora Boreales o quizás no tendría otra oportunidad  como esta para verlas en mi vida pero fuí afortunado, los dioses vikingos me benidjerón y me regalaron un espectáculo que me dejaría sin palabras.

Para realizar esta actividad contrate el paquete Busqueda de Auroras Boreales a la agencia de viajes Northern Norway Travel. El paquete incluye microbus, traje térmico y bebidas calientes en el campamento base.

La previsión de la página de las Auroras Boreales presagiaban algo grande.

Just one day, just one night, just one shot, ... If I would not see Auroras Boreales maybe I could not watch in my lifetime, but I was a lucky person, I was blessed by the Viking Gods and they gave me a gorgeous spectacle.

I booked the Northern Light Chase tour with the Northern Norway Travel tour agency. MicroBus, thermal suit and hot drinks on the base camp.

The NorwayLights webpage foreshadowed something really great.

Antes de llegar al campamento base hacemos una breve parada para ver las primeras auroras boreales.

Before arriving at the base camp, we made a brief stop to see our first Northern Lights.

El campamento base esta situado junto a un lago. Una pequeña hoguera y las bebidas calientes calientan nuestros cuerpos. Se agradece también el traje térmico y las pieles de reno para sentarnos.

The base camp is close to a lake. A little fire and the warm drink warm our bodies. The thermal suit and the reindeer fur for sitting down are welcome.

Todavía no han aparecido las Auroras Boreales, las vistas desde el campamento son increíbles.

The Northern Lights have not yet appeared, the views from the camp are amazing.

Ya están aquí. A partir de aquí se acaban las palabras. Solo queda admirar la naturaleza.

They already are here. There are no more words. Stare to the sky and enjoy.

En los tiempos muertos, nuestro conductor realizaba algunas fotos divertidas.

En las siguientes fotos salgo yo flipando con las Aurora Boreales. Al salir en las fotos no cabe la posibilidad de decir que no estuve.

In the next pictures I am in the pictures. Nobody can say that I was not there.

Nordfjellet on Ringvassoya, Tromso

Solo tengo un día en Tromso, así que durante el día habrá que probar la famosa nieve polvo de Noruega y por la noches intenta ver las Auroras Boreales.

Para el esquí contacto con la guía Merrick Mordal. Temprano por la mañana, hay que aprovechar las pocas horas de sol, me recoge en el hotel y tiramos hacía Ringvassøya. una Isla cerca de Tromso. Allí intentaremos subir a Nordfjellet.

Antes de aparcar dos hembras de reno se nos cruzan por la carretera.

I have just one day in Tromso, so while there is light, I will try to ski on the famous powder snow in Norway, and later I will chase the Northern Lights.

Merrick Mordal will be my ski guide. She picks me up in the hotel. The light on the sky lasts just a few hours, so we have not much time. We drive to Ringvassøya,  an island close to Tromo. Our challenge is to get the Nordfjellet.

Before leaving the car, two female deers cross the road.

Dejamos el coche y rápidamente nos ponemos en danza. Es rara la sensación de salir con los esquís directamente desde el mar.

We do not waste time, quickly we start the touring ski. Sea and snow on the same picture, it is a weird sensation.

Tras unos primeros metros nos topamos con un lago helado. Es la primera vez que esquío sobre un lago helado. Confío en mi guía y sin dudarlo tiro hacia delante.

El sol se asoma tímidamente detrás de las montañas.

After a hundred meters, we bump into a frozen lake. It will be my first time over a lake. I trust my guide and I go head.

Shyly the sun looks over the mountains.

Sanos y salvo, dejamos el lago a nuestra espaldas. Ahora empieza la subida, la primera parte transcurre entre arbustos.

Safe and sound, we leave behind the lake and we face to our first steep. The first steps are between shrubbery. 

Mientas Merrick sonríe, yo resoplo.

While Merrick smiles, I pant.

A pesar de ser más de las diez de la mañana, la luna llena sigue en el cielo.

It is ten o'clock and the moon is in the sky.

Abandonamos el abrigo de los arbustos. Ahora toca subir por la ladera de la montaña. Ya se empieza a ver el sol. Estoy alucinando.

We leave the shelter of the shrubbery. The hillside of the mountain is clear. The sun starts to peek out. It is gorgeous.

El sol en el este y al mismo tiempo la luna en el oeste.

At he same time we can see the sun on the east and the moon on the west. It is strange.

Es increíble ver el sol en el horizonte, la montaña entera sola para nosotros, abajo de la misma el océano y al fondo la isla donde se asienta la ciudad de Tromso.

I am speechless. The sun over the horizon, nobody on the mountain, on its skirt the ocean and the island of Tromso is glimpsed shyly. 

Toca abrir huella. Buenos en verdad nada más abro huella para salir en la foto 😁. 

Touch open footprint. Really, I just open the footprint for the picture 😁.

Toca descansar, en un pequeño remanso montamos el restaurante. Tenemos pocas horas de luz, así que esta vez no haremos cumbre, pero no me importa.

It is time to kit-kat, we set up a little restaurant. We have few light hours, so we abandoned the idea to get the summit, but I do not matter, I am enjoying it a lot.

Después de un rato bastante agradable con Merrick, nos lanzamos para abajo. Es la primera vez en nieve polvo, así que toca bajar con precaución.

After a comfortable time with Merrick, we jump down. It is my first time on powder, so I have to be cautious.

No tengo palabras para definir como me lo estoy pasando.

It is impossible to explain my feelings. I am having a really good time.

Llegamos a los arbustos, la cosa se complica para mí.

We get the shrubbery, I do not like this situation.

Hay que pasar entre los arbustos. Para mí es imposible así que decido hacer los últimos metros sin los esquís. Al quitarme los esquís me hundo hasta la rodilla. Durante unos quince minutos, el avance se hace duro.

I have to ski between the  shrubbery, the way is too narrow for my skill so after a few moments in which almost I eat a tree I decide to take off the skis and walk over the snow. I am over powder snow, this means that I sink in the snow. My steps are awkward. During fifteen minutes the way is tough.

Prueba superada. Salimos desde la orilla del mar con los esquí y hemos vuelto al mismo. Ha sido una experiencia inolvidable.

Ahora hay que descansar que por la tarde noche tendré que ir en persecución de las Aurora Boreales. Pero eso es otra historia. Si quieres saber como fueron las Auroras Boreales, pincha en el siguiente enlace.

Test passed, We started on the shore and we have come back safe and sound. It has been an unforgetable experience.
